Roger Petch has a BEd (Hons) in Physical Education and Religious Education and has been working with children and young people since 1997. Roger quickly developed a passion for teaching and strove to develop his experience in a range of schools across the South West. He has taught in central Somerset since 2004 and has held leadership roles since 2012. Over the years, he has worked extensively with children with special educational needs and disabilities, including specific learning differences, in both mainstream and independent settings.
A pioneer in education, Roger introduced the sport of handball into Somerset schools. He was appointed the first ever South West Performance Manager for the England Handball Association, which works with elite age-grade athletes. He is a qualified coach in an extensive and varied range of sports including rugby, gymnastics, archery, orienteering and badminton.
Roger enjoys helping people to believe that they are better at something than they thought and then assisting to help them reach their potential. He is an unorthodox thinker who prefers to innovate than imitate. Roger's core philosophy is that the harder someone works, the luckier they get.
Roger currently lives in central Somerset with his wife, three sons and a dog. He is a passionate Bath Rugby supporter.
