Charlotte has a Postgraduate Diploma in Occupational Therapy as well as a BSc Hons degree in Psychology. Since becoming an Occupational Therapist 20 years ago, Charlotte has gained specialist experience in a variety of mental health settings as well as with students in a specialist SPLD setting.
As an Occupational Therapist, Charlotte strongly believes in a truly holistic approach when working with students. This involves looking at their physical and mental health, emotional and behavioural needs and how these impact on their function both at school and at home. All her interventions are tailored and graded to meet the student’s individual requirements.
Charlotte feels that anxiety and sensory regulation can be barriers to learning. She works with students to develop strategies to reduce anxiety, improve sensory processing, build resilience and improve self-esteem. Her special interest is supporting students in their mental health, wellbeing and sensory needs. She is currently completing a Post graduate certificate in Sensory Integration.
Charlotte’s hobbies include arts and crafts, gardening, singing, baking and sailing.
